Used by those favoring independence from England during the 18th century, “don’t tread on me” is the motto of choice for those favoring minimal government interference into their lives. Generally seen as a pro-American motto, its most prominent use lately has been by groups opposing the recent expansion of the government. Rightfully so. Little do these people know that the America they wish for is long gone and will not be returning. Cessation is the only real option, I suppose, for these folks and that is unlikely… cessation or total and utter financial collapse of the American nation and the ensuing global calamity. We are the new Rome.
